Kratom Tablets vs Capsules

Kratom Tablets vs Capsules Blog: Which is the Right Option for You?

So It Began…

Although used in Southeast Asia for generations, Kratom didn’t reach landfall in the States until the early 2000’s. Loose Kratom Leaf Powder was the first of the Kratom products to premiere. While it certainly piqued interest, the crushed leaf powder was definitely more of an acquired bitter taste, and left many requesting a format that didn’t leave an earthy residue in their mouth. Wah-lah! Prayers were answered. Kratom Capsules were the next format, becoming a popular choice for new users with no bitter bits. Kratom Tablets arrived later as technology became more common in the Kratom industry with more companies compressing Kratom powder into solid tablets – this could contain more Kratom per piece than its predecessor.

Factoring in Convenience

In the modern day, few of us have time to spare during our own personal hectic twenty-four hours when work, school, errands, chores, side hustles, children, pets, and social priorities are running a lot of the show. So keeping some of the routine as simple as possible is very much a win. Including your botanical products schedule!
Kratom Tablets and Kratom Capsules are some of the top-selling Kratom product formats in present day. Unlike Kratom Powder, they require no prep work. Just a little water to wash them down with. Users are on the search for convenient Kratom products that don’t require as much time, especially those who take their Kratom in the morning or during work hours where free time can be limited.

Kratom Tablets vs Capsules: What’s the Difference

So, what is the main difference between Kratom Tablets and Capsules? And do Kratom Tablets and Capsules have the same ingredients?

Let’s break it down.

What are Kratom Tablets? Kratom Tablets are compressed Kratom Powder. To help the tablet maintain its shape, manufacturers may include small amounts of food-grade binders or flow agents. At Zion Herbals, we use small amounts of sucrose, silicified microcrystalline cellulose, and stearic acid.

What are Kratom Capsules? Kratom Capsules contain loose Kratom powder inside a gelatin or vegetarian capsule shell. Here at Zion Herbals we use gelatin capsules. And other than the shell itself, there are no other added ingredients.

In terms of actual Kratom content, both options stand on equal ground. Our Lucky80 Tablets contain 100mg of Kratom Extract and 80mg of Mitragynine. On the Lucky80 Capsules side, we’re looking at 100mg of Kratom Extract and 80mg of Mitragynine.

It’s important to note: clearly reading the labels is important as some other manufacturers have tablets and capsules that differ in their Kratom amounts.

👄 Mouthfeel~
Mouthfeel is a key point why some users prefer one method over the other. Capsules are smooth and quite easy to swallow, ideal for people who dislike Kratom’s natural bitter flavor. Tablets may be a tad harder to swallow (more dense), but some users actually don’t mind the acquired taste. In fact, our entire Kratom Tablets lineup is chewable, so if you’d prefer to crunch your Gold Reserve, Lucky80, or Lucky90 Tablets before downing them with some water, go right ahead!

Dissolve Time~

There is minimal difference between these methods’ dissolve times. Capsules must first dissolve before releasing the Kratom powder into one’s system, so they may take just a bit longer to break down than tablets. That being said, tablets must also disintegrate after being swallowed, especially if they’re heavily compressed. Most users will not notice a significant change in onset time.

👜 Portability & Convenience

We have another tie! Both Kratom Tablets and Kratom Capsules boast petite on-the-go sizes, making these easy to bring along during your day-to-day routine or your next big adventure. It’s also important to note too that Kratom Tablets can be split in half for those looking for half a serving. This method could be more popular for those a little unfamiliar with their Kratom tolerance or if they are new to Kratom in general. Take half, wait for the effects of Kratom to kick in, and decide later if you’d like the other half.
